We carry only Pilot Brands New Zealand lamb, which is raised free range, grazing in natural pastures. The climate of New Zealand is temperate, being neither excessively hot nor cold. This means that lambs are able to be left on pasture year round with no indoor shelter or supplemental feeding necessary – there is no feed lotting, and none of the antibiotic regimes associated with feed lots. Use of HGPs (hormone growth promotants) on lamb is strictly prohibited by an Act of Parliament in New Zealand guaranteeing that Pilot Brand lamb is free of added hormones.
